You record or pick a video of a pack opening. PackLens identifies the cards it sees, shows market estimates where available, and renders the names, prices, and a running total into a copy of your video. You get that video, a share link, and a card list you can export.
Collector mode is separate: it scans single cards on-device to build a priced collection, and does not upload anything.
Collector mode is in the PackLens iPhone app, on every plan. From your dashboard, tap Collector scan, choose Magic or Pokémon, and hold one card at a time up to the camera. PackLens identifies each card on your phone and adds it to a collection saved on this device, with its price estimate and a running total.
The first scan for a game downloads its card database once; after that, scanning works from that copy until a newer one is published. Scanning a single set? Pick it first and that set's cards are matched first. You can change quantities, remove a card and undo it, and share the collection as a CSV. The collection stays on this device and is not uploaded or synced to your account.
Recognition can miss cards, even with clear footage. Common causes include:
On a Magic scan, use Fix a miss on the result to reopen the review, then correct the card or add one that was missed. The video re-renders with your corrections. A Pokémon scan cannot be edited that way, so tell us which card it got wrong. Getting the exact printing (set and collector number) right from video is inherently imprecise, so some variance is expected. Review the matches and correct any mistakes before exporting.
Prices are estimates from the data available when your scan runs. Data is normally refreshed daily, but may be older. Check the card, printing, and finish during review; actual sale prices can differ. These estimates are not appraisals, offers to buy, or financial advice.
Free covers clips up to 20 seconds at 3 scans / week, renders at 720p, and stores finished videos for 7 days. Your card results are kept either way. Pro raises the clip limit to 10 minutes at 60 min / week, the output to 1080p, and keeps your videos while Pro is active. Creator covers clips up to 30 minutes at 180 min / week, also at 1080p, for people who regularly film long openings.
Videos are kept while you're on a paid plan. After your account switches to Free, you have 30 days to download older videos before they become eligible for deletion. Card results remain in your account.
Free-tier scans are processed on a best-effort basis. At busy times a scan may wait in a queue.
Processing time depends on clip length and queue load. You can leave the page and return to check progress. A failed scan shows an error with a retry, which usually does not spend another scan from your allowance; the Retry button says when it would. If it fails twice, send us a request with the scan link and we will look at the job directly.
What we collect and why, including analysis records and cropped card images used to improve recognition, is in the Privacy Policy. Terms of use are in the Terms of Service.
Shared pack pages carry the opener's handle. Every share page has a Report this content link at the bottom. You do not need an account to report a page, and you can leave an email if you would like a reply.
Send the team a request. Say when the scan ran and what you expected to happen. If it is a specific scan, the share link or the page URL is the fastest thing to send. We reply by email, to the address you give in the request.
